About UsSale and acquisition of real estate: Our real estate attorneys represent buyers and sellers, property owners in disputes, such as condemnation and are regularly involved in all stages of real estate sales, from negotiating the sales agreement of sale to completing the closing. Besides handling single property transactions, we are often lead real estate counsel in multi-property, multi-state transactions. Tax work: In conjunction with our business and litigation affiliate attorneys, we handle real-estate-related tax matters such as applications for real estate tax exemptions and abatements, review and structuring of transactions in light of transfer tax considerations, structuring of tax-deferred exchanges, and real estate tax assessment challenges. Financing: We represent borrowers and lenders in arranging construction loans and permanent financing. Construction: Our attorneys represent owners, architects, contractors and construction managers in negotiating and executing construction documents. With our intellectual property attorneys and litigators, we assist clients in resolving construction and ownership disputes. Leasing: We represent both landlords and tenants in the negotiation of leases. Workouts: With the participation of specialists and litigators, our real estate attorneys are involved in negotiations with debtors and lenders in loan restructuring and mortgage foreclosures. Environmental issues: Our real estate and environmental attorneys work together to protect buyers, sellers, tenants and lenders from environmental pitfalls. We work closely with our real estate clients, state environmental agencies, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to facilitate the purchase, development and financing of brownfields.
